Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (21/28): iOS – 3D Touch on Messages Changes

I had not experienced 3D Touch properly until I got my iPhone X to see how it fits into my usage.

The feature I probably use most is 3D Touch on Settings icon to go straight to battery to see screen on time usage.

I am more than willing to use 3D Touch more on other apps from the home screen at the very least, but at least on stock iOS apps they don’t provide a great experience.

The second one that deters me from using it, is the messages app.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (18/28): iOS – Option to fade between songs like iTunes

When I started to put this list of the top things I want to see Apple work on for software in 2018, I knew this would of been my 2nd most requested feature behind the Dark Mode API.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (16/28): iOS – More flexible Home Screen Layout

I understand that recent rumours suggest that this is not happening this year and has been delayed until iOS 13 in 2019, but I thought I’d keep it in this wishlist anyways as I have wanted this for the longest time and there are quite a few valid points to be made about this. Apple should keep these in mind when redesigning the home screen.

This one has always been one of, if not the main reason I considered switching to Android at various stages over the past few years, is because of Android’s home screen layout.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (11/28): All – Consistent Siri Experience across all devices & Continuity Support.

This one is very fitting, given the recent reports coming out after the HomePod release.

An issue I have with Siri these days is that you could ask one thing to Siri on your iPhone and it doesn’t work or do the same on Apple TV, Apple Watch, Mac or on the HomePod.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (3/28): iOS – Dark Mode API

This one is perhaps my top requested feature for iOS 12, when it comes to the changes it provides, problems it solves and how simple it likely is to implement.

Apple introduced a dark mode in OS X Yosemite (which I have not turned off since) which was the first for Apple, then added dark mode to tvOS for making watching TV at night better.
