Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (27/28): iOS – Changeable icons on the lock screen on iPhone X.

The iPhone X is the only iOS device today that has a unique home screen.

It is unique because of the lock at the top for Face ID and the buttons at the bottom for Flashlight and Camera.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (23/28): iOS – Battery Percentage always visible on iPhone X.

I knew going into getting the iPhone X that the battery percentage would not always be visible in the status bar, but is visible if you swipe down from the top right to show Control Centre.

If you move Control Centre to the multitasking screen like one of my previous posts suggested, it would make it even harder to see.

The more and more I use my iPhone X, the more I feel that Apple could easily add an option to display battery percentage instead of the battery icon.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (21/28): iOS – 3D Touch on Messages Changes

I had not experienced 3D Touch properly until I got my iPhone X to see how it fits into my usage.

The feature I probably use most is 3D Touch on Settings icon to go straight to battery to see screen on time usage.

I am more than willing to use 3D Touch more on other apps from the home screen at the very least, but at least on stock iOS apps they don’t provide a great experience.

The second one that deters me from using it, is the messages app.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (18/28): iOS – Option to fade between songs like iTunes

When I started to put this list of the top things I want to see Apple work on for software in 2018, I knew this would of been my 2nd most requested feature behind the Dark Mode API.

I want Apple to bring the optional music fade effect from iTunes to the iOS music app.

Apple 2018 Software Wishlist (16/28): iOS – More flexible Home Screen Layout

I understand that recent rumours suggest that this is not happening this year and has been delayed until iOS 13 in 2019, but I thought I’d keep it in this wishlist anyways as I have wanted this for the longest time and there are quite a few valid points to be made about this. Apple should keep these in mind when redesigning the home screen.

This one has always been one of, if not the main reason I considered switching to Android at various stages over the past few years, is because of Android’s home screen layout.
